MNHS Leads Third Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill
Three thousand students of Malabon National High School performed the "Duck, Cover and Hold" procedure and vacated their school buildings to go to their evacuation area during the simultaneous earthquake drill held nationwide on October 18, 2007 at 9:00 in the morning.

The drill tested the disaster preparedness of students, teachers and school employees as well as checked the responses of local authorities during and after earthquakes. During the drill, the blaring sirens of ringing of bells represented ground shaking. Drill participants carried out the "duck, cover and hold" procedure while the sirens and signals were on. Duck, cover and hold means finding good cover, watching for falling objects and staying calm during the whole process.

Local responders which include the Alpha, Bravo Rescue Team, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Metro Health Council Rescue Team demonstrated their abilities to handle hazardous materials in schools hit by earthquake and to provide first aid to the victims portrayed by Tanghalang Bagong Simbol members and some CAT officers. K-9 units were also scattered around to school to look for injured casualties.
